Corner Electric Fireplaces
Corner
fireplaces are similar to standard types of fireplaces but have
been given that specific name to distinguish them from other styles
of fireplaces available on the market today. Usually a corner
electric fireplace is in a box like shape and is positioned in an
fitted into any corner of the room or specially positioned such as
in an entertainment center.
Corner fireplaces are usually installed in rooms where there’s
not much space or maybe to add a unique type of design or look to
the room. Corner electric fireplaces are available in many
different types of materials, designs and models. Any home owner
should have no problem finding the right design and size to match
the right style of his home.
There are several uncommon designs for corner fireplaces. The
three basic designs are the Island Fireplace with four sides of
glass, the Peninsula Fireplace with three sides of glass but having
two sides which are longer then the third, and a corner fireplace
with only two sides of glass.
Another type called the Bay fireplace is similar to the Peninsula
but only uses three sides of glass.
The main difference between the two styles is in the lengths of
glass of which they are constructed. The Bay model typically uses
two sides of glass that is shorter than the third piece and the
Peninsula model has a third side longer than the other two glass
sides.
What’s nice about a corner electric fireplace is that it really
can be positioned anywhere where there’s a (120V) electrical
outlet. No need for a chimney or special gas lines for the
installation. One advantage of corner electric fireplaces is they
can be positioned in the middle of the room and therefore can
heat the entire square footage of the room better than a
traditional style fireplace.
