Before electric fireplace heating technology was advanced as it is today the electric fireplace logs weren’t very realistic and had a cheap appearance to them. The electric logs are very life-like in appearance and come complete with audio effects such as crackling wood burning sounds.

This type of log is typically made out of oak or other wood material and has a device that turns inside the log giving it a flickering effect and makes the realistic wood burning sounds. This device also features chandelier style light bulbs that help re-produce the orange glow of an actual fire.

This setup is typically what you would use to replace your wood burning stove. It contains everything a normal electric fireplace contains except you insert it inside your existing wood burning fireplace. It contains the fake logs , heater and fan just like a standalone model.

Electric Log Heater

The heat element is usually placed under the fake logs and depending on the model, it will put out enough heat to warm a room at a comfortable temperature. The log heater usually comes with a thermostat that allows for automatic or manual temperature control.
